All I can say is that I'm really surprised. The console is solid and has great potential. It's unmatched at this price. It's beautifully crafted and has a great screen, plus solid buttons and a good D-pad. Demanding PSP games run smoothly, even on the X2 Revolution, without having to use frameskip, which is a really good result. I highly recommend it. Retro Jacek
Very good handheld. I wish the abxy buttons werent so high and same with the cross. Wish i could configure how big the letters are in android. Surfing on the web is hard when the buttonsis so big.
Just got it for 1 day. So far great build quality. Performance is great for the price but not superior, keep your hopes in check. So far plays most psp games at 2x (or more) but with one or two hard to run games like motor storm it is smooth only with 1x. But still its one of the hardest and last psp games that came out. Software is a little jankie like Button assignment. Especially for Android native titles like Huntdown for example, the controller has to be configured painfully and its not recognized as a xbox controller, nor it can use the d-pad, only the joystick. But overall I am impressed with the quality and gaming experience. Dreamcast runs flawless and even some gamecube and ps2 games as bonus.
What a great handheld. I’m loving the Mangmi Air X so far. Great job, developers and everyone who made possible.
The only 'issue' with what I received was with the protective case. It was missing the letter G in MANGMI. It reads MAN MI. It wasn't in the box or packaging; it just didn't make the trip from there to here. Everything is great quality otherwise, and I'm enjoying the device quite a bit!
For the price of an used PSP, you get a premium feeling handheld, with cooling system, quality controls and capable of running upscaled PSP, N64, Dreamcast, Saturn and all systems from PS1 and below.
Took a little while to get due to shipping, but more than worth the wait. Was looking for just a casual portable sized handheld to play around with in my down time or when I travel that could handle some of the classics and didn't cost an arm and a leg. This was exactly what I was looking for. Does it play ps4 or Xbox360 at 4k 60p, of course not, but it doesn't need to. But when I have a Lil time to kill and want to play a little Super mario (snes) or Sonic 2 (Sega), do a little racing with gran turismo 2 (ps1), or get completely lost in Ocarina of time (N64) it's absolutely perfect. It plays MOST psp, definitely not all, but most of the important ones. PS2 is close to a no go, there are a few games that are playable, but don't expect much on the big names like need for speed, black, or madden. GameCube though is actually kind of surprising and one i might play around with a little bit. Definitely pushing the limits of the hardware, but on basic settings, Star Fox works great, Twilight Princess works with a few slow downs as does pikmin. I've only dabbled with Gamecube and PS2, I'll update later, but can pretty much guarantee everything below PSP will work, and many with enhancements/ hacks. Battery life is great, hasnt died on me yet and I usually play around with it a few times a day and charging isn't too bad either. Having the android backbone is amazing and super convenient. It's nice to be able back out of a game quick to pop on Google or YouTube if I need any tips or walkthroughs, or just don't feel like pulling out my phone to watch something. My favorite function by far though is the android sleep function. The fact that I can just hit the sleep button when I need to get back to whatever adulting I need to do, and pick up exactly where I left off when i come back, without having to reopen anything or state save is amazing. Controls are comfortable, reliable, and overall feel pretty nice in the hands. Nice and light too for lazy plays on the couch. Screen is the perfect size, big enough to enjoy, but small enough to throw the whole thing in a bag (highly recommend the caring case!). It's also super bright and clear, but can be dimmed at night and even apply a blue light filter. I got the black and orange which allows the black bars on the sides of old school 4:3 games to just kind of blend into the console to add to the immersion. Still kind of learning everything that it can do and playing around with different front ends, but all in all, truly couldn't be happier and for a first handheld, Mangmi absolutely nailed it! I'm sure heavy gamers could find some things they don't like about it, but for the casual/ occasional gamer looking forgot just something to mess around with in their free time, I highly recommend.
I believe this console is excellent. I loved the amount of games that it has, the quality of the screen, the durability of the battery, the velocity at which it runs the games, and the sound. I believe it is a really complete console that can give you tons of hours of fun, and it is a perfect size. Because it is not too small and not too big, the screen size makes the experience in the games perfect.
I purchased the Transparent Purple model with the 256gb card.
First off, the ergonomics are great for this device. I did not anticipate how comfortable it feels in my hands.
The IPS screen is subjective depending on what games you want to emulate. And most retro games were intended to be played on a 4:3 aspect ratio. I personally was having good results playing some PSP games at 4x resolution with no hiccups.
The PS2 emulation isn’t perfect at higher resolutions but some of these games look just fine at 1x -1.5x resolution using the preinstalled emulators they have for you. The benefit of it being a device that runs with Android 13 helps out big time if you would like to remove those and install your own favorite emulator, and customize your library with your own games. This device also supports NFC so you could leverage that when you’re customizing your library.
Me personally, I don’t like having to do much tinkering. So for someone that’s just simply looking for something to pick up and play this device could be a winner.
Anbernic has their own front end game menu. You navigate in and out of that menu with their button. Doesn’t get in the way and it’s kind of nice (to me). I personally wish that I received more PS2 titles preinstalled on the SD card but this is still kind of picky because I already own the titles that I want to play. Aside from that it comes packed with MANY retro games I haven’t played in years. I’ve found myself playing this device almost every single day since I’ve purchased it. I had some great nostalgia playing this thing. I’ve had a blast customizing it to how I want my device to be. This was my first Anbernic purchase and it won’t be my last. I appreciate what Anbernic is doing in this realm of gaming. Very few companies in this market provide a true “plug and play” experience.
When getting this product I highly recommend only using the dedicated USB to USB-C cable that comes with it to charge the device. I also recommend connecting the device to WiFi and doing the OTA updates before you dive in.
It takes a little bit of time but aside from that…the ability to just open this product, turn it on, and just start start playing games with very little set up at this price point (to me) is fair for the price.
As a new fan of this product I would personally like to see the RG406H get a revision of this same ergonomic feel with a stronger chipset. A bigger battery that could supports fast charge. The sticks are great. The D-Pad is nice. If they threw in some OLED I wouldn’t complain. Thank you guys for building an awesome product and I hope to see the rebirth of this line of your handhelds. I’ll definitely be a buyer.
The Miyoo Flip feels better in the hand and is better built than the Anbernic SP. I was worried about the hinge at first, but so far it seems sturdy enough. The emulation is good, but the latest I've tried is N64. The screen is clear and vibrant; I can't notice any issues at all. I will buy another just to have a variety of colors.
Absolutely fantastic value for money, manage expectations obviously but it's actually exceeded mine so far!
it is really a good quality handheld and really beautiful screen 5.5 inches 1080p.
"The" best budget android retro handheld console.
Great build quality, perfect retro emulation up to PS1,
, DC, N64, PSP, DS. Bonus systems : PS2, GC and 3DS.
stylish! tried with a MAME game, so far so good
